Japanese aliens represent more of a danger to the security of Pacific coast communities than aliens of German and Italian descent, argues San Francisco mayor Angelo J. Rossi. Citing proof of Japanese American sabotage at Pearl Harbor and the threat of similar sabotage on the Pacific shore, Rossi contends that Japanese residents should be removed from the West Coast. However, Rossi explains, residents of Italian and German descent should not be removed as their removal would disrupt their lives and the community. Moreover, Rossi argues, American citizens of Japanese descent should be subjected to a rigorous test of their loyalty to the United States.
