In 1991 Perdue's son Jim became chairman of Perdue Farms. Frank Perdue remained as chairman of the executive committee of the company, which in 1994 operated ten processing plants in six states and rang up $1.3 billion in sales. In addition to its operations in the United States, the company also sees opportunities for expansion in Southeast Asia.
