As The Princess Bride begins, we see a young boy sitting in his bed, playing a video game. His mother comes in, and the boy complains that his grandfather is staying with him. His grandfather comes in and brings him the gift of a book that his grandfather used to read to him. The grandson is not interested, but the grandfather then opens the book and begins reading.
The story starts with Buttercup, a beautiful woman who lives on a farm. There is a handsome helper boy named Westley.
