Sugar Kane Kowalczyk is a beautiful singer who has a problem with men and alcohol. She is always choosing the wrong man, and she gets in trouble with Sweet Sue for drinking too much. When Sugar meets "Josephine" and "Daphne," she feels like she's finally met two really honest friends. As Joe falls in love with her, he dresses up as a rich man named Junior so that she will fall for him too. When Sugar finally learns his true identity, she loves him even though he is poor. Sugar is a kind woman who believes that she will eventually be able to make all her dreams come true. She wants to be happy and satisfied as well as rich. These are her goals, but she learns that love doesn't always follow the rules.
