Finding True Love
Finding true love is one of the greatest themes of Rebecca. Although Maxim was married to a woman whom everyone respected and admired, he was never happy because she was not his true love. He had only married her because she could run his house well, he was fascinated by her, and she was of the proper social standing.
Until the Second Mrs. de Winter comes along, Maxim has no idea what it is like to experience true love. After their first meeting, the two begin spending a lot of time with each other.
