Forrest Gump is the story of a man who lives a somewhat unrealistic, charmed life. Forrest has to wear braces on his legs, but he eventually learns how to run and even receives a football scholarship to college for his speed. Forrest's mother is a strong woman who tells him that he can do anything, and Forrest's only friend is a troubled young girl named Jenny.
As Forrest lives his life, he follows his ideals no matter what the cost. He saves the lives of many men in Vietnam, and he helps his friend's family by keeping a promise. By following the ideals of honesty and loyalty, Forrest becomes successful in life. Although he reaches the American Dream, he does so without ever seeming to worry about finding this dream.
