Overwhelming Love
David's fiancye at the beginning of the film, Alice, sees their marriage as a further focus on his work. She isn't at all worried about missing their honeymoon because a missing bone is coming in. Her love for David seems to be primarily a love for the museum and his work there.
When David meets Susan, he is completely exasperated by her. He can't understand why she is always making his life difficult and trying to keep him around. She ruins his chances at getting the million dollars for the museum, and every time she tries to make up for it she makes things worse.
By the end of the film, though, David has fallen head over heels in love for Susan. She may exasperate him and cause his life to be more complicated, but he can't get over the fact that he now loves her. True...
