Journey
The journey motif is used in numerous books and movies. Authors and filmmakers never get tired of using it because people are able to relate to it so easily. A journey is a metaphor for change, and as characters travel along their respective paths, they find out important truths about themselves. Many films depict serious journeys, but in Bringing Up Baby, the journey is funny and sweet.
David and Susan's journey toward love begins with a simple trip to the golf course. David wants to get a million dollars for the museum while Susan just happens to be at the club. After she sees him, though, she steals his car so that he can't get away from her. Instead, he has to follow her so that he cannot have any chance at getting the money from Aunt Elizabeth.
