In these times, family life greatly influenced economic and social aspects of Europe. Women were also a huge factor with the way affairs were run in society. Women were constantly tied down by the necessity for men in their society. Despite difficult times during early modern Europe, chivalry and women's dependence was a common custom.
During the early modern times in Europe, family life varied based on location. Rural and urban life each held different employment opportunities and social customs. In rural areas of Europe, economy was organized on a small scale and centered around farms. It is even known that in 1750, agriculture employed 75% of all French and about 65% of all English.
