Journalists, film directors and artists use image to create powerful meanings that can be expressive but also manipulated which has the power to control our sense of image. Today they force us to ask the question, "Are they reality or illusion?" Either way we are still seduced by image without becoming willing enough to challenge the truth or the power the media has over us.
The composers of The Truman Show, the Uncle Sam war poster and Enemy Image show us how images can shape various meanings to the aspects of our lives and how they are represented. These texts manage to cast a shadow over the truth through the media and their techniques, causing us to become deceived.
