The Necessary War in Iraq
Summary: A defense of President George W. Bush's decision to conduct war in Iraq. The author states that Iraq's weapons of mass destruction capabilities and fighting terrorism justify the military action.
The war in Iraq is a justifiable war that would have been avoided had Iraq and it's officials been willing to solve the problem diplomatically. President George W. Bush did everything within his power to negotiate with the Iraqi officials and try to avoid military force, but Saddam Hussein would not compromise. The United States must use military action to prevent Iraq from expanding their weapons of mass destruction. Another reason Americans must fight in Iraq is to prevent the spread of terrorism, which pertains to a large number of people in the Middle East. If America does not fight then there is the risk that Iraq will continue to promote terrorist activity, and the world could experience events as horrendous as 911.
