Summary: The author proposes that low-wage workers in the United States be more active in forming labor unions and protesting workplace injustices in order to receive the wages and just treatment they deserve.
Many low-wage workers are getting abused and taken advantage of by their boss because they are seen as an ignorant and a fool. Abuse of power is a major issue with many Americans, especially immigrants, because many of them don't have the knowledge and the experience in the United States to know that they are being treated unfair and unjust. Many people come from another country and they start working in the first job they can, to start getting paid and making a living. However, the first job will pay minimum wage and will be a hard working one. To those people that are desperate for a job, getting abused is not a matter because all they care about is getting paid. Therefore, when they are in the job they start learning that their low-wage job isn't enough to live on and getting abused isn't worth it. So...
