Summary: The novel "Sister Kate" by Jean Bedford is set in 19th century Australia and tells the story of a young girl's first love, her transformation into a young vibrant woman and the effects of a tragic death on her life.
Sister Kate is an example of a fictional novel written by Jean Bedford. The story being set in the 1870's in Victoria, Australia. It tells a story of a girl named Kate Kelly as she progresses throughout her life and deals with the effects of the Kelly gang and her lover on the young, vibrant and loyal Kate.
Through the use of language and visual imagery, this novel explores many different ideas and issues that associate with change in perspective and self change.
