Simon in "Lord of the Flies"
Simon's character is practically anonymous through out the first half of the Lord of the Flies however he recently become one of the key focuses from the beginning of chapter nine. His basic appearance is practically unknown but critically his personality is vividly explained through out the book. For example, he begins as a member of Jack's choir but has begun to respect the likes of Piggy and Ralph, and they have respected his `friendship'. This becomes very relevant as at the end of chapter nine when Simon is brutally murdered by the hunters, as well as Piggy and Ralph who also joined in on the savagery. As well as this we know that he is kind and affectionate from this rare act of sharing, `Simon wiped his mouth and shoved his piece of meat over the rocks to Piggy.' This...
