Origins and Holidays of Five Major Religions
Judaism starts all the way back, to around 900 B.C, when King Solomon ruled Israel. He was a great leader, and he took into consideration, the religious life, and built an amazing temple in the city of Jerusalem. Unfortunately, he died not long after, but the Jews (The people of Judah) managed without him, and gave their name into Judaism.
The Jew's were monotheistic, which meant they believed in only one God. God was omnipotent (all powered), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipresent (in all places at all times). God's will for human behavior was revealed to Moses and the Israelites. The Toron, or 10 Commandments were a gift from God, describing how to live you life. There were three different aspects of Jewish religious tradition; the covenant, law, and prophets.
