Summary: It is clear that society today does not view marriage and several aspects involved in marriage as it is spoken about in the Bible. The lax view of society shows itself in the amount of people getting divorced, same-sex marriages, and the number of people having premarital sex.

Marriage and the Family

The Christian faith and the view of society have been different for a very long time. One of the main differences is the subject of marriage and the many topics inside of marriage. Since the time of Abraham people have been falling away from what God had originally planned. Whether it be the topic of homosexuality, divorce, or sex before marriage, it seems as though society has always had a differed from God's plan.

The Bible's view on marriage is very cut and dry. In Matthew 19:9, Jesus says to the to the Pharisees, "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
