Summary: In William Shakespeare's play "Macbeth," the main character Macbeth is a puppet manipulated by the words coming from the three witches and Lady Macbeth. The four instigators provide Macbeth with the motivation and confidence he needs to kill Duncan and perform his other dark deeds.
In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, Macbeth does not have the confidence himself to kill the Scottish king, Duncan. Macbeth is dependent on the three witches and Lady Macbeth. The three witches and Lady Macbeth, the instigators, provides Macbeth with the motivation and confidence he needs to perform his dark deeds.

The first prophecy that Macbeth hears from the witches tells him that he would be the Thane of Cawdor. Then the three witches tell Macbeth that one day Macbeth shall be king. Upon returning to camp, Macbeth is greeted by Scottish nobles and the medallion for the position Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth, surprised by the position, comes to accept the witches telling. Thinking he will be king is unbelievable, but half of the prophecy told by the witches is true, so then believing the other half would have to be true as well, according to...
