Techniques Used in "Sturt's Dreaming" by Bruce Lundgren
In the poem "Sturt's Dreaming," Bruce Lundgren creates a tone full of organization and excitement through language features such as figurative devices, symbolism and imagery to establish the importance and sacredness of the land to the Aboriginal people. And also to capture the nostalgia and deep feeling of anxiety Sturt dreams of in this poem.
The poem is made of two stanzas of irregular length with no fixed rhyme scheme which gives the composer greater flexibility in presenting ideas of Sturt.
