Tollund Man

The Tollund man is a useful tool for archaeologists to get a clear look back to medieval times in Denmark, telling us peoples day-to-day lifestyle, their diet, and a useful base for their belief system.
The Tollund man is on of the most well preserved bog bodies in the world. It is so splendidly preserved, when it was first discovered in Bjældskovdal bog (just outside of Tollund (hence the name Tollund man), Denmark) on Saturday, May 6th, 1950, the reactions of Emil and Viggo Højgård, the two brothers who found him, was to call the police. It was only when the police investigated the body did they realize they had little chance of catching the killers. There had already been two bodies found in the Bjældskovdal bog already, so the police were not shocked by such an occurrence.
