The Racial Bias of the Norton Anthology
The Norton Anthology of American Literature gives off a `white dominant' vibe to American literature. There is absolutely no diversity among the people associated with this anthology. Among the eight editors listed on www.wwnorton.com, none of those listed are of Asian, Africa, or Hispanic descent. Even those who have endorsed the book are solely Caucasian. Upon researching those who have endorsed this book, A. Petra, Doug Shaak, Denis Fournier, and James Coleman are clearly not of a non-Caucasian descent. This questions the racial validity of the book.
