The Broken Globe: Contrasting Opinions Essay
ones free will is the power of an opinion, an opinion of ones own which is something
they agree with whole-heartedly. Not everyone believes the same thing. Those whose
opinions are different, will argue forever or until an agreement is made. These personal
opinions come from influences along the road of life. In Henry Kreisel's The Broken
Globe, the father and son have very different views on the world. The contrasting
opinions of Nick Solchuk and his father were developed through the influences of
individuals in their lives and their surrounding environment; these factors close the
fathers' mind, but awaken Nicks.
