What Were Nazi Policies toward Women 1933-39 and Were They Successful?
Summary: The Nazis had different roles for both Men, Women and Youths, concentrating on women, they were `expected' to be wives and mothers for the future of the Nazi Regime, to follow the philosophy Kinder, Küche, Kirche, whilst the men wore `the uniforms, the jackboots and, especially, the trousers', Youths were to be brought up under the influence of National Socialism.
Women of the third Reich could be in no doubt that they lived in a male-dominated society, women were stripped from most of their rights, women after this had a complete remould of their status and role within society. Before the NSDAP came to power, in the previous years, all over Europe and the mainly Germany, the role of women had been that of a domestic, following the introduction of several laws by the Nazi Party, they radically changed the status of women living in Nazi Germany. In this essay, I will outline the policies which the Nazi Party introduced and whether or not they were successful.
