Endings Leading to Beginnings in Their Eyes Were Watching God
Summary: An analysis of the way in which endings lead to new beginnings for Janie in Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God. Often times when one considers an ending, he or she connotes to a definite stop. An end is often used to imply the permanent halt to an event or reoccurring trend. However, often times in life an end, in truth, is actually a new beginning to something much more significant. In Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God, many crucial events take place that create substantial changes in Janie's life. Instead of these changes leading to a dead end in the road, they lead to detours by which one may discover new opportunities or experiences. "What we call the beginning is often the end, And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from."
