Persuasive Essay
High school is one of the most influential times in a young man or women's life. For seniors this is the year that will prepare them for the "real world." This is why I believe it is so important for them to have a wide spread field of electives to choose from.
One reason I believe seniors in high school should have more choice in classes is so they can gain the fullest education. If these students have a higher education, they will be able to get into better colleges and Universities. With the increase in electives, seniors will be able to take classes they enjoy and can consider to follow up with in college. On the other side of things, without the ability to choose from a large field of electives, these seniors will be more liable to slack off and to leave early. With this early dismissal, I believe seniors will have a greater chance of getting into unwelcoming situations, which could severely affect their futures. Also the slacking off could become a habit, and could follow them into college. To avoid this, I believe schools such as ours should get many different types of the subject electives. Some classes I think would best prepare students for the real world would be expanded business classes, and electronic classes. If these subjects get more electives, there will be less people in each class and each individual student will get more attention than in larger classes. With this extra attention, these seniors can ask more questions and in part, will be given a higher education. Another reason I believe seniors should have more electives to choose from is because with classes to choose that they enjoy, they can meet new friends with the same interests. Also, with each senior being comfortable with the classroom surroundings, they are more likely to open up and become better students.
These are just some brief examples of how having a greater number of electives is the most beneficial for seniors in high school. Also, with this wider field of classes to be chosen, it is more likely for senior students to be successful in future years. Ultimately, each individual class will affect senior's lives forever.
