Macbeth
Discuss how you view them.
In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare we are presented with the character Macbeth who shows us many different qualities. We first see Macbeth as being loyal and patriotic but he quickly turns into a "butcher" as described by Malcolm. The behavior of Lady Macbeth contributes to Macbeths image and causes her to be perceived as a "fiend like queen." Nearing the end of the play we find that Macbeth's assassin like characteristics are swallowed up by feelings of guilt, also by his courage and pride. It is shown that Lady Macbeth has a weak personality as she commits suicide. We question Malcolm's motives and consider if he was clouded by revenge when he describes Macbeth as a "butcher."
