All Kids Should Have an Extracurricular Activity
"Activities widen a child's world and allow him to go into something in-depth and gain self-confidence," says Joan Bergstrom, an expert on children and how to raise them(Bergstrom). One in every four hundred kids has diabetes, an extreme difference from twenty years ago when only about one in one thousand suffered from it. By the year 2050, the number of kids with diabetes is estimated to double. Experts believe the reason diabetes and other adult sicknesses are affecting today's kids is due to obesity (Nordlie). A survey was done on kids involved in sports and other extracurricular activities and only one in fifteen hundred have it.
