Martha and Mary
Many people today are mislead and confused by the aphorisms of discipleship that Jesus demands of us Christians. In the book of Luke, we hear how Martha was always anxious and worried about so many things while Mary is patient and calm. Martha is analogous to a daughter who thinks that what she is doing is always right and that her chores are first on the list; for instance, she will skip church because of a lack of sleep or because of a spontaneous activity with her friends. On the other hand, the daughter Mary does first things first, but is prepared to defer her chores because of something more crucial.
