Summary: Miss Fanny is the middle-child in the family; she is Smith's older sister and Miss Bridget's younger sister. She is seen more considerate than Miss Bridget. She had a crush on `Lord' Tom and he felt for her as well until he died.

Miss Fanny is the middle-child in the family; she is Smith's older sister and Miss Bridget's younger sister. She is seen more considerate than Miss Bridget. She had a crush on `Lord' Tom and he felt for her as well until he died. Leon Garfield also portrays her (in my opinion) as one of the weakest-minded characters. She and Bridget are constantly trying to get Smith from following into `Lord' Tom's footsteps: they tried to stop him from holding up Mr. Mansfield, stealing more than what is in pockets and also from always lying; they try set a good example for him by being courteous to everyone even though she might despise him or her; they are doing whatever they can to stop Smith from coming down the 13 steps of the cellar dead.

She was illiterate at the beginning but probably learned how to read when...
