Summary: Janie in the book "Born Blue" by Han Nolan is a selfish person who was born to a mother, a heroin addict, who didn't take care of her. Janie is ultimately defined by her poor actions.
Janie, or Leshaya as she is later called, in the book Born Blue by Han Nolan, is portrayed as a selfish person. Janie was born to a mother who didn't take care of her, and who was a heroin addict. After nearly drowning, she was put into a stinky foster home where she met her "brother", or best friend, Harmon. After he was adopted, she was planning on running away, but her mother took her and traded her to this couple for heroin. It tells about all her struggles in this house, until they get arrested, and she goes off by herself again. She finds Harmon, joins a band, and has an unwanted pregnancy then blames it on Harmon. She also makes up with Mama Linda when she finds out she has aids and is going to die. She causes a lot of trouble to everyone she meets...
