Comparison of the Taming of the Shrew and 10 Things I Hate about You
Have you ever wondered how stories from the past are brought into the future and made into stories that modern day people would enjoy? The film 10 Things I Hate About You, written in 1999 by writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirstin Smith, was based loosely on The Taming of The Shrew, a famous play written by William Shakespeare in the late 16th century. This film captures the main ideas and feelings of play but is changed so it will entertain the 21st century audiences. Many things in the play are parallel and some aspects have been slightly altered so both versions will entertain their audience.
