Bob Fosse was born June 23, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. An ironic place to be born since one of his most famous shows was indeed Chicago. Fosse must have gotten his itch of the spotlight from his father, a famous vaudeville. At the age of 13 he was already in a dance group called The Riff Brothers, and by 15 he had choreographed his first number to "That Old Black Magic."

At first being a Choreographer wasn't the first thing on Fosse's mind. After being in the Navy, Fosse tried his luck at acting. He was in the Chorus for both the tours of Call Me Mister and Dance Me a Song. After trying his hand at the stage it was time to turn to the silver screen.
