Deep in space with only minutes to go before the ship runs out of fuel and all its content go with it including its passengers. Who will make the plunge equally significant as walking the plank. The movie "The Cold Equations" stars Bill Campbell and Poppy Montgomery as the main characters. It is a normal length movie taking time from me when I would rather be doing something else. The producers of this movie ruined the actual story by Tom Godwin.
The science fiction genre should focus more on the technology and its affect on our lives not whether who will die. The producers want to tell us that the lives of people should not be at a loss, but that we can learn from those people. In the movies case that person was John Barton. The movie seemed to loose its purpose as a science fiction genre...
