Jean De Brunhoff
L'Histoire de Babar, or The Story of Babar as they call the book in English, started out as a mother telling her 2 little boys a story, while they were lying ill in bed. The mother was Cécile de Brunhoff, her sons were Mathieu, Laurent, and an up coming son, Thierry, and their father was, Jean de Brunhoff. Usually, Cécile would bring to life the stories of Grimm, Anderson, or Perrault. But tonight, she decided to make up her own story about a baby elephant who became a man in human society and the adventures that lay before him.
