Possible Causes of New Orleans Flooding

Summary: Structural reasons why portions of New Orleans was flooded during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Many have debated why the flood in New Orleans has occurred. I hypothesize that the flood occurred because of the "bowl" shape that New Orleans is in. Through thorough research I have discovered three main reasons why New Orleans has flooded.

Upon inspection of the map you can clearly see that New Orleans is under sea level by an estimation of 7 or 8 feet, as you can see it also has a so called "bowl" shape, clearly capable of holding water, with a good amount of water the city was easily flooded.

Another incident was a Levee. A Levee is used for blocking the passage of water. Above you can see the black lines indicate where the Levees are, a Levee broke in the Industrial Canal. This caused 3-10 feet of flooding in some areas. With the wall rushing over the wall it caused the bottom of the wall...
