Summary: It is a certainty that most of those who use the word Holocaust use it only in its most widespread suggestive sense - that of a seemingly appropriate label for the twentieth century's near annihilation of all European Jews, considering they know of none other - and do not intend any other implication beyond its commonly accepted meaning.
For the vast majority of the population, the word Holocaust calls upon a scene of massive loss of human life, in particular the ludicrous murder of six million Jews in the Nazi death camps of World War II. Though "holocaust" has often been used to describe nuclear annihilation and other forms of massive human destruction, without condition the word carries only images of long lines of Jews waiting to enter there final destinations, the gas chambers. It stands as the paramount symbol of the immense cruelty of the Nazis during the reign of Hitler, and even today, many years after the fall of the Nazi regime, its significance has not diminished.

In no uncertain terms has the world responded in the aftermath of the Holocaust. Many European nations have banned outright anything having to do with the Nazi movement, including artifacts, literature, and certainly current day political parties...
