There were many differences between the North and South of America during the mid-nineteenth century. The two sides were like a different race of people as they were always opposing views and the differences were so large both economically and socially. Some of these include the North wanting to outlaw the practice of slavery which the South greatly opposed. Others include the different lifestyles that they led. The different types of jobs, income differed between the North and South.
