Sleeping In
Most students enjoy snow days, because a day off means sleeping in as long as they want, just like Saturdays. The majority of school age kids consider Saturday to be their favorite day of the week because it is their only break in the week, unless a snow day occurs. When reading Roger Sipher's essay, "So That Nobody Has to Go to School if They Don't Want To," the typical first reaction is similar to what may be heard from a student waking up to hear that there is a snow day. Upon taking a second glance, it becomes apparent that even if the essay provided a solution to problems with public schools today, removing compulsory attendance laws is not the way to go about it.
