"Shabanu Daughter of the Wind" by Suzanne Fisher Staples is a very interesting story about a young girl's struggle to adapt to the world. It points out the customs and traditions that they have. There were many struggles they had to overcome. Her struggle to follow what the customs and tradition tells her to do. It is a very well written story narrated by Shabanu about what she sees at the moment filling in a bit of the past when needed. All though this story doesn't have a happy ending, it teaches us about the hardships that people from Pakistan suffer. It lets us see how easy we have it, and how, in our eyes, we have a much better life than them.
