Summary: A Child Called It by David Pelzer is an aspiring book that shows determination through a little boy's eyes as he tells an unforgettable story of the many abuses he suffered at the hands of his alcoholic mother and the averted eyes of his neglectful father. As a young child only his dreams barely kept him alive and motivated to go on and fight stronger. His alcoholic mother found many "games" to play with him as a way of torture and she rarely gave him the luxury of food, which would only be scraps that even the dogs would not accept.
