Raimond Gaita tells us of hardships faced by Romulus, from his early troubling childhood in Yugoslavia, to times of great sadness and mental anguish he conquered in his later years in Australia. Throughout these accounts, many of them dark and dismal, Romulus's true colours are always evidently bold. His qualities of honesty, high morals, and bravery are seen in these times where with other people we would have seen them crumble.
