The French people gave Napoleon absolute power due to the difficult and depressing circumstances they were going through. After the French Revolution, the economic situation was terrible as well as business and finance being very limited. France was deeply divided which caused frustration and commotion throughout the country. Ten years after the revolution the ideals and statements of the declaration of the rights of man and citizens still had not been put into practice.
