Kellerberrin

Kellerberrin is a typical wheat-belt, small country town located 246 metres above sea level and 203 km east of Perth on the Great Eastern Highway. It has an average annual rainfall of 350 mm most of which falls during the winter months, Kellerberrin has Mediterranean type climate with extremes from 0 degrees C to 40 degrees plus during the summer months. It produces good crops of wheat, barley and oats. The Shire of Kellerberrin has a population of approximately 1,165, with a town population of approximately 1,000. The countryside is slightly undulating with stands of timber and scrub. Varieties of timber include Salmon Gum, York Gum and Gimlet, also rare stands of Banksia and Gungunru.
