The Age of Napoleon takes place from about 1796- 1812 AD. This book was mainly about the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. The author is trying to show how great of an impact that Napoleon had on our world. He affected it politically and militarily, culturally and socially, and commercially.

Two major ways that Napoleon changed our country were politically and militarily. Napoleon was a child of common origins who rose to great power. He was born as just a subject of the king of France. Napoleon's father, Carlo, was one of Pasquale Paoli's chief lieutenants. He secured his son's future by soliciting from the king a scholarship to one of the royal military schools for children of noble birth.
