Do We Need Other People in Order to Understand Ourselves?

Summary: Comparison of Hitler, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and John Steibeck's Mice and Men and how we do not need to look to other people to understand ourselves.
We do not need other people in order to understand ourselves because we are human beings and therefore we have the power to understand ourselves. We are connected to ourselves and our thinking is related to anyone or anything. To substantiate this perspective, I have derived examples from literature and history since they have the most important events. They are situated in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck; "Romeo & Juliet" by William Shakespeare; and Hitler in WWII.

In Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the author introduces us to George and Lennie who are roaming around the country. George is the one with the brains and Lennie is the one with the strength. George and Lennie did not need each other to understand themselves because they already understood themselves. They were together because of Lennie's grandmother told them to be.
