In this modern day, as we look around us, we see change. The things we are most accustomed to are dropping like flies. Old is becoming new. Acceptable is becoming unacceptable. And thus, along with everything else, parenting techniques are also evolving. Years ago, for example, in the situation above, spanking was both acceptable and encouraged in order to teach the child a lesson. Now we are realizing that, perhaps, spanking is not the most effective method of disciplining children. More options have become accepted and common, and although spanking still maintains some advocates who refuse change, gradually, spanking is becoming a thing of the past. In today's day and age, however, the difference between a good parent and a bad parent is their choices in disciplining...
