Australia has a large variety of roles which it plays both within regional and global scenes, and is actively involved in international affairs; which are based on many things such as economy, culture, politics, military forces, historical ties and overseas aid. Australia deals with a number of countries and regions, many simply due to geography; ie; Asia-Pacific ties, whilst others are of different nature such as economy, or even historical ties. Many of these ties have become a great benefit to Australia, both economically, and also in proving itself as an independent country on the international scene. Despite Australia's relatively remote location and rather small population, it has managed to play an ample role in globalization and in creating links with many other nations and regions.
