Sliders was a television show developed in 1995 by Tracy Torme which followed the lives of 5 people who travelled through wormholes into "parallel universes." Each world they visited was different; different landscape, different challenging issues and always differing adversaries which they must face. Whilst these superficial factors remained dynamic, the important themes remained consistent throughout each world. They were forced to face death in a particular aspect, overcome adversities, face moral dilemmas and defeat a body of corruption in order for the theme of each world to contextually fit. This is practically identical Chaucer's "Pardoner's Tale" and Sam Raimi's "A Simple Plan" - Whilst these two texts are superficially different in form, setting and issues commented on, the theme of greed remains consistent.
