Cosi Essay
An inner journey is a pathway to finding a greater sense of self. Inner journeys involve the exploration of the self, as individuals review their growth and development in the light of experiences which challenge and inspire them. The 3 texts `Cosi', the stimulus item "the road not taken" and my related "faith moves mountains" all depict journeys of the mind and spirit to open up a greater understanding of the sense of self. `Cosi' by Louis Nowra provides us with an insight into an inner journey through Lewis the main character being contrasted with the other minor characters. The text includes techniques such as humour, symbolism and contrast/ juxtaposition. Nowra uses an original idea of the play-within-the-play to further convey the message. `The Road Not Taken' the stimulus item portrays an inner journey through an extended metaphor of choice.
