The Influence of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization on Modern Society
Summary: With its strong government and remarkable religion, ancient Egypt was incomparable. Throughout the ancient Egyptian civilization, the Egyptians developed many unique and fascinating ideas that only made mark in history, but influenced society today. This essay examines how the Ancient Egyptian Civilization affected modern society.
Ancient Egypt was a land of mystery that confined the beliefs of both scholars and the public. Civilization originally started on the banks of the Nile, a great river that flowed from the Mediterranean Sea to the center of Africa, and shaped the heart of ancient Egyptian civilization. It nurtured the growth of the Pharaonic kingdom, and because of the farming grounds around the river, it attracted more and more people each year. The civilization existed for approximately three thousand years (3100 B.C. - 332 B.C.), and many accomplishments were made. Some include their building of the pyramid, and their form of writing called hieroglyphics. Many of these fascinating and ingenious ideas that were developed throughout that time, including their distinct social class, their exceptional government, and their strong belief in religion, influenced today's society.
