Billy Bishop: A Canadian War Hero

Summary: A biography of Billy Bishop, the legendary Canadian fighter pilot from World War I. He was known for his dramatic dogfights over France, and won 72 individual battles with enemy pilots, making himself a household name in the warring countries.
By definition a hero is "a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his/her life." During WWI Canadian fighter pilot, Billy Bishop, rose above his peers with exceptional courage, nobility and strength. With his daring and dramatic dogfights in France, he was victorious in many of his encounters with enemy aircraft. His perseverance as a soldier created a new level of dedication to the country as well as inspired soldiers in future to come. Bishop's self assured attitude combined with his tenacious drive to be the best was the backbone of his success. He was a hero at what he did and he captured the attention of the public like no other solider had done before. Billy Bishop's fearlessness and courage shaped him into a Canadian hero.
